Weeks 2 & 3 Updates

Sorry for not getting around to this sooner, but good news to report anyway. The weather for most of the second week of the season remained unseasonably hot, dry and windless. It didn’t hurt the fishing one bit however, as week 2 (as has historically been the case) remained outstanding. All guests in camp wereContinue Reading

2018 Season Underway!

Greetings everyone! Well the 2018 season is underway and week 1 is in the books, and what a week it was! Honestly, one of the best opening weeks I can remember in some time. Lots of walleyes, pike, smallmouth and whitefish although the perch fishing (while not targeted much) was a little tougher. The cool,Continue Reading

Fishing gets even better and the food oh my!

It was another outstanding week of walleye fishing here on Wabby last week. A lot of regulars, one new group (Kansas City) and a return to camp after a 15 year absence. None of it mattered as the walleye were everywhere again and whether you were a regular, a newbie or just rusty after aContinue Reading

Walleye beat down underway…

Well we all knew that the weekly updates just weren’t gonna keep happening now didn’t we? Camps full, fishing has been great and there have been just enough “issues” to eat away any idle time that I may have had. No complaints however, as the fishing has really been the story here the last twoContinue Reading

What? A weekly report…

I know, SHUT THE FRONT DOOR, a report on the goings on around camp on a weekly basis? WTH, madness I tell you. Ha ha ha. The walleye fishing, despite the hottest temps of the year, bluebird skies, and very little wind has held up remarkably well. Of course, those who get up early (NewsflashContinue Reading

Wabaskang Lake fishing report

Well week number 7 of our season is in the books and what an awesome week it was. Firework display in camp for the 4th, one of our new groups, the Jandre family from the Milwaukee area, sharing some roasted smoked Wisconsin cheese at the firepit with everyone, and just enough good fishing to keepContinue Reading

Camp Update- Weeks 3 & 4

Yes, I know. Here it is only week 3 of the season and I’ve already fallen behind in the blog updates… Plenty of good info to share though as it has been a good couple of weeks here in camp, despite a pretty windy week 4. Despite some great walleye and pike fishing in WeekContinue Reading

Peffley's Wilderness Camp is a family owned and operated camp. Dave has been fishing Wabaskang Lake for over 25 years and was previously a guest of this camp for 12 years prior to purchasing the camp in 2005. I am a proud supporter of our military and offer a nice discount during the month of July to our guests who have also served. I have three daughters ranging in ages from 16-21 who spend much of their summer with us in camp and have totally embraced the wilderness experience we offer. They have for years referred to it as the "best summer experience ever".

While rarely necessary on our lake, because I do have a very good working knowledge on how and where to fish on Wabaskang Lake and our portage waters, I will guide groups if asked to. Otherwise, I am always happy to share information with our guests and provide them well marked lake maps so they can start catching fish their first day in camp.

I pride myself on running a very clean and well managed camp with your satisfaction our top priority. Many guests who have fished from this camp for over 20 years, and several more that have fished here for over 30 years and even some over 40 years.
